They are perfect if live in the countryside or walk frequently on rough, uneven terrain. They are usually more durable and sturdy than a regular pushchair, with special features like large wheels that are puncture-proof to handle the most difficult of surfaces. They tend to be quite wide and are difficult to maneuver in narrow spaces or in the aisles of shops.

There are excellent all-terrain pushchairs designed for parents who are looking to take their children off-road, but do not want to tackle Ben Nevis. They provide the best of both. Choose models that have good all-terrain capabilities, sturdy suspension and large puncture proof wheels, but is constructed in a traditional pushchair style with reversible seating and full carrycot options.
